ScamStomper (“we,” “us”) respects your privacy. Here’s a plain-language rundown of what we collect, why, and what we do (and don’t) do with it.

What We Collect

If you sign up for scam alerts: just your email address, through our email provider Brevo. We use double opt-in, meaning you have to confirm your subscription before you’re added — no one can sign you up without your consent.

If you use our “Report or Check a Scam” tip line: whatever you choose to share — your name and email are optional, and you can submit anonymously. We also collect what you tell us about the suspicious contact (what happened, whether money or information was sent).

If you use our Contact form: your name, email, subject, and message, so we can respond to you.

How We Use It

• Email signups are used only to send you scam alerts when we publish them. No fixed schedule, no spam, no selling your address to anyone.
• Tip line submissions are read by us to understand what scams are circulating. If a submission reveals a pattern worth warning others about, we may turn it into a public Scam Alert — but we anonymize it first. We never publish your name, email, or other identifying details without your explicit permission.
• Contact form messages are used only to respond to your inquiry.

Who We Share It With

We use Brevo to manage our email list and Fluent Forms (running on our own WordPress hosting) to manage tip line and contact submissions. These are service providers that help us run the site — they don’t use your data for their own purposes. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone, ever.

Cookies & Tracking

ScamStomper does not currently run advertising or third-party tracking scripts. Standard WordPress and hosting cookies may apply for basic site functionality.

Your Choices

You can unsubscribe from scam alert emails at any time using the link in any email we send. If you’d like us to delete information you’ve submitted through our tip line or contact form, reach out through our Contact page and we’ll take care of it.
