Our Tip Line Isn’t Law Enforcement

Our “Report or Check a Scam” tool is a private tip line, not a substitute for reporting to the FTC, FBI/IC3, your bank, or local police. We read every submission, but we can’t guarantee a response, investigate individual cases, or recover lost money. If you’re actively being scammed or have already lost money, contact your bank and the appropriate agency immediately — see our What To Do page for specifics.
